Niruba Sathish beside a Saraswati sand work, that took her close to three days to do
INDIA -It has been 20 years since Niruba [Sathish] has fallen in love with sand. “Since rangoli is associated with religious beliefs, I always depict gods on my sand designs. The biggest one I have made until now was the one with Narasimhamurthi standing with Prahaladan, Lakshmi, and various other gods standing beside,” she recollects. “Rangoli is a divine art that is worked on during navarathris, I would not want to commercialise it, ever” she says.
